Cancellation / Prepayment

To secure your booking we require card details, some rates require a payment in advance and are non-refundable. We have a 48 hour free cancellation policy on non-refundable rates.

Children & Beds

Subject to availability and room type we provide additional beds and cots for children under 18 and infants. Cots are free of charge and beds are £20 each this includes breakfast for your child.

Pets

All pets must be under the supervision of their owner. £20 per stay covers basic cleaning. In the event of damage to the room this will be charged on a case by case basis.

Cards Accepted

We accept all major credit & debit cards. Unfortunately, we are unable to take payment by Amex.

"We stayed for 3 nights prior to the second lockdown. We had a fantastic stay in the suite at the top of the hotel. Large, spacious room, with lovely bathroom and roll-top bath. The staff here are lovely and go out of their way to ensure everything is ok, despite the additional restraints that Covid has placed on the hospitality trade. Breakfasts are amazing, lots to eat and good quality products used. We spent another night at a local 5-star hotel and I have to say, the George Townhouse was out of the two by far the best."

"Stayed here for 2 nights whilst in the area visiting relatives and what a good choice we made. Our room number 3 was enormous with a large bow window that overlooked the square and also with a large en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath and a fabulous walk-in shower. All amenities were provided including tea and coffee making facilities and the gift of a bag of local fudge was much appreciated!"

"Booked direct with the George. Found a parking space without the problem at the back of the hotel. Staff courteous and checking in process easy. Stayed in the suite for our wedding anniversary which was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection including a choice from the cooked menu. The bar felt very cosy and welcoming having different seating areas. Would recommend and will be doing a return visit."
