Founded by old school friends Tom & Oli, the Exploding Bakery started in 2011 with a tiny bakery and cafe in Exeter. Where they baked cakes and served coffee to complement them. From here a cake revolution began. They want to banish mass produced, margarine laden, additive riddled cakes and replace them with proper cakes using proper ingredients. A monument to flavour, using ethically sourced ingredients that will get your taste buds popping.

Exploding Bakery has grown exponentially since 2011, not only do they supply cafes and delis throughout the UK, they sell their cakes and letterbox brownies online all whilst running their own cafe.

Their efforts are bolstered by their admirable list of trusted suppliers which include the Casa Luker Chocolate Farm in Colombia, Trewithen Dairy their westcountry butter makers of choice, the award-winning Littlepod Real Vanilla and St Ewe Eggs who have been farming in Cornwall for over 40 years.

We’re big fans of their truly tasty treats which is why you can find them at our lovely country pub in Warwickshire. The Blood Orange Brownie is a firm favourite here. One mouthful and you’ll experience juicy pieces of blood orange jelly combined with oodles of rich dark chocolate and sumptuous brownie, enveloped in crunchy tempered chocolate. What’s not to love?
